Hallo an alle!
Vielen Dank!
LG
Nina
Dear host-family,
my Name is Nina, I’m sixteen and I live in Germany with my mum, Stephanie, and her boyfriend, Burkhard. Unfortunately I don’t know anything about your family yet, so I’m just going to tell you something about me and my life. My parents got divorced, when I was about 4 years old. Ever since then I lived with my mum and visited my dad on the weekends. Last year my mum and me moved in with her new boyfriend. I don’t have any brothers or sisters but Burkhard has three children. Two of them already have kids of their own, so they’re a little older than me ;).
My family is a very important part of my life and I can do a lot of great things with them like going swimming, skiing or sometimes just talking.
In my free-time I like to meet friends, go to the cinema or go shopping. I also like climbing, go-karts or paddle boats. Anyway I’d really like to try out new stuff in Australia like wind-surfing or water skiing. If you have any special hobby I will definitely want to try that, too!
I’ve always loved travelling a lot and Australia has always fascinated me! I’m really happy, that I will soon get the chance to get to know the country and the people living there. Unfortunately I’ve never been to Australia before and I look forward to finding out as much as possible about it! Even though I spent three weeks in England last year on a language travel, the time in Australia will be a completely new experience for me. I’ve heard that the school system down under is a lot different from ours. I’m very curious what it will be like to attend an Australian school and experience daily life at the other end of the world. Besides I’d like to improve my English and learn to speak fluently! I think that living in Australia will be an awesome experience for me and that it will have big influence on my life and personality. I like to try new things, find out about different cultures, people and languages. I hope that after the time in your family Australia will be a second home to me! But since I’ve heard so many good things about the life and the people down under I’m almost sure of it :).
I really hope that I will be able to become a part of your family and live with you like a daughter. Maybe in exchange of you showing me the Australian culture, I could show you a bit of the German one. For example I can cook a typical German meal or bake a cake. Especially if you have kids they’ll probably like a cake better :). I got on very well with my English host-family and I’ll do my best to be integrated in yours! If you have children, I don’t want any special treatment or something just because I’m an exchange student. I’d really enjoy it if you just look at me as another daughter.
I very much look forward to seeing you soon and thank you very much for letting me live with your family!!!
Kind regards,
